U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Center

The U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Center (NAVCEN) controls and manages Coast Guard radionavigation systems from sites in Alexandria, Virginia and Petaluma, California. In addition to reliable navigation signals, NAVCEN provides users worldwide with information and timely operational status reports on the GPS, DGPS and Loran-C navigation systems.

These reports by NAVCEN's Navigation Information Service are available 24 hours a day in a wide range of media (Internet, BBS and Fax on Demand as well as telephone). The service also provides access to the Coast Guard Local Notice to Mariners and to other Coast Guard information sources.

In addition to the navigation information and links available at NAVCEN, additional maritime safety information may be found at the U.S. Coast Guard's Marine Safety home page.
