This 2nd Edition (revised November 2009) of the Guide for Correct Entries in the Oil Record Book is an updated version which supersedes the 2006 edition.
This new edition addresses the increasing problems of ships being detained and fined due to equipment malfunction and also gives guidance on the management of ship oil-water separators in the engine room.
The 2nd edition includes a significant number of relevant amendments, agreed by the IMO, which are required due to revisions of the Annex 1 MARPOL 73/78 regulations, and due to guidelines which have a direct impact on correct entries in the Oil Record Book.
The Guide contains:
(a) instructions and interpretations on how to properly record all related operations as per MARPOL 73/78, Annex I, Regulation 17
(b) list of operations to be recorded
(c) frequently found errors or mistakes
(d) detailed examples for all related operations.
First published in 2004, this second edition, is structured to facilitate integration in the document management system of any individual INTERTANKO member. It can also be used as a training tool for seafarers.
