This is the English/French edition of the CONFERENCE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN INTERNATIONAL COMPENSATION FUND FOR OIL POLLUTION DAMAGE, 1971 (1972 Edition)
The need for a compensation and indemnification system supplementary to that provided by CLC 1969 was considered at this Conference and resulted in the establishment of an international compensation fund for the purpose of ensuring that full compnesation is available to victims of oil pollution incidents and providing reflief to shipowners in respect of the additional financial burdens imposed on them by CLC 1969. This edition contains:
- Final Act of the Conference;
- International Convention on the Establishment of an International Fund for Compensation for Oil Pollution Damage (Fund), 1971;
- Resolutions adopted by the Conference;
- Supplement containing the 1976 Protocol to Revise the Unit of Account Provisions of the 1971 Fund Convention.
