Vessels sailing under the Czech Republic country flag are required to have on board this flag as part of flag state requirements that derive from maritime regulations in the International Code of Signals and the International Safety Management (ISM) Code. These codes are published by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) as an ongoing effort to reinforce maritime safety procedures and communications to the international maritime community. The Czech Republic flag consists of three colors that include red, blue and white. The Czech Republic flag is rectangular in shape. The white and red colors of the flag are in the trapezium shape while the blue color in the flag is in an isosceles triangular shape. The hoist side has a triangular shape based on it. The reason about the blue isosceles triangle was to give the distinction among other countries neighboring Czech Republic such as Poland and Austria. Blue symbolizes loyalty, determination, truth, perseverance and fairness. White symbolizes peace and honest nature among the Czechoslovak people. The ratio of length to width of the flag is 3:2. The Czech bears a close resemblance to the Polish flag. Reason for the white color on top is because it was a representation that peace reigns in the country. Chaos can be stopped through conversation, so the red color was placed at the bottom, not to challenge their bravery.
