Also covers the history of all four canals, including historical sites and places to shop today.

We are planning to do the Erie Canal all the way to Lake Erie. We used Skipper Bobs when planning our great loop but gave them away. Repurchased for this trip. Great tool
This is a much needed companion to the NYS Canal Corporation Cruising Guide, which is 20 years old and has not been updated. Current information on docking and amenities is important when there are so few options on the canal in some areas. I recommend it for anyone traveling on the canal system.
I’m getting prepared for my first trip through the NY canal system and this is also my first cruising guide. What a great resource.
The guide is very helpful. We will be transiting the Erie Canal in a few weeks and having studied the guide, now confident that we can handle it and have a great time
