How it's used
Radio operators, coast stations and rescue coordination centres use List V to identify a ship from its MMSI or call sign, and to find how to reach it. That matters most during distress, urgency and safety traffic, when a station has to be identified quickly and correctly.
Who needs it
Ships fitted with GMDSS, coast stations, maritime administrations and ship managers who keep radio documentation up to date.
