British Admiralty Nautical Chart 4007: A Planning Chart for the South Pacific Ocean is a standard nautical chart. This nautical chart complies with Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) regulations and is ideal for professional, commercial and recreational use. Charts within the series consist of a range of scales, useful for passage planning, ocean crossings, coastal navigation and entering port. Mariners should always use the largest scale nautical chart appropriate to their needs. In particularly busy seaways such as the English Channel, Gulf of Suez and the Malacca and Singapore Straits, the standard nautical charts are supplemented by mariners' routeing guides which provide advice on route planning in these complex areas. Admiralty nautical charts are corrected to the latest notice to mariners (NTM) by our trained cartographer at the point of sale. It is the mariner's responsibility to maintain and correct the chart onwards to be in compliance with SOLAS regulations and to ensure safe navigation.
We recently did a trip from Fiji to Tahiti. What I noticed on the trip is that there are a huge number of islands in the South Pacific that no one has heard of, and it is very uncommon to see them on a map. Chart 4007 is an excellent study chart to see this large and interesting part of the world.
Just what we needed to plan our next Pacific crossing.
The charts arrive promptly, and I well packaged.
This is just what we needed. The Pacific is so huge, it is difficult to get the 'lay of the land' so this chart is a good way to plan the voyage.
The service was superb. My British Admiralty charts were confirmed shipped within a couple of hours of my placing the order. Two days later they arrived very well packed, in a tube inside another carton, by Priority Post.
